Visit to Buskaid
Mbulelo visited Buskaid in January. Buskaid offers high quality string tuition to underprivileged young people at its music school in the township of Soweto, Johannesburg. Director Rosemary Naldon wrote:
‘An unexpected miracle occurred in the school last Saturday. Mbulelo Ndabene recently returned to SA from the UK after a highly successful dance career there (google him - he’s impressive!) to open a Dance Project, similar to Buskaid, in his little hometown, Ugie, in the Eastern Cape. This is immensely brave, shows remarkable idealism and a firm belief in the positive future of the Arts in South Africa. The energy, laughter and inspiration Mbulelo brought with him on Saturday was just what we all needed, and a great start to our 25th Anniversary year!’
